Our Driving Classes and What to Expect
Classes at Northgate Driving School are offered year-round and with enough flexibility for any student. All classes are scheduled around public school hours and free transportation is provided from Mayo and Century High Schools to our facility. All classes are held on the weekdays. Receive a discount when you pre-pay for our two-week class and six hours of behind-the-wheel education.
Our students come from across the Rochester area including Pine Island, Byron, Stewartville, St. Charles, Zumbrota, Kasson, Dodge Center, Eyota, Lake City, and Plainview.

The Importance of Behind-the-Wheel Instruction
The 6 hours of instruction behind the wheel are critical for the students’ long term safety and success as drivers. These hours allow our instructors to prepare students to drive carefully and responsibly in a real driving situation. This is the practical part of our driver’s ed program.
Apply for the Driving Test
After you have completed your classes with Northgate Driving School, you can apply to take the driving test, which you must pass before you can receive your driver’s license. To apply, click the link below, then on the new page that loads, scroll down to the section labeled, “Appointments”. Click “Schedule or Reschedule a Road Test or Class D Knowledge Test” to start your application.
